My name is Xavier Zamarron, aka XDog. I’m an 18 year old student at Texas State University. What’s most important though, is that I love sports.

As a young kid watching sports, seeing athletes pull off crazy highlights like dunking on someone or absolutely running through a tackle, made me dream about one day becoming an athlete myself. Unfortunately I never really filled out, I was always the short and skinny kid. To be perfectly honest, that hasn’t changed much today.
I had to reinvent my dream. If I couldn’t be an athlete then I wanted to do something with sports, anything. I loved talking and debating about sports. Sometimes I’d find myself thinking out loud about what moves teams should make or how the ones they’ve already made will effect them and everyone else. I watched so many games and read so many articles, it was basically all I thought about as a kid.
As I grew older, I became a better writer and was able to write down all my thoughts in a professional and interesting way. I decided that my future career would be in journalism, sports journalism.
